Geography is a subject that is filled with excitement and curiosity. It allows children to gain a better understanding of the world, people, places and environments. It also helps children to understand how and why places are changing and predict what the future may hold.
We want the best for all the children at Rowsley C of E Primary School, and we work collaboratively to achieve this. Children progress through school by building on their geographical knowledge and skill set, whilst teachers are willing to adapt their practice to meet the needs of all their learners.
We worked together to design a curriculum that is relevant to our pupils and one that they would enjoy. We have a variety of topics that meet the objectives of the National Curriculum and ensure progression is made throughout their time at school. Therefore, there is complete coverage of the National Curriculum and the objectives are revisited in later year groups to ensure depth of learning.
Please look at our progression map to find out more about how we build and develop skills and knowledge through the National Curriculum's areas of study. If you have any questions, please contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
