A further update with regard to the refurbishment in school. First of all I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along on Saturday to help us clear out school. It was just the right number of people and you made our work so much easier - thank you.
Things have been moving remarkably quickly; much of school is almost dried out and redecoration will be underway before long. The schedule of work has been agreed and it is anticipated that all of school, apart from Mrs Hodgson’s room, will be back in use when the children return to school on 6th January, with the remaining work completed shortly after that. This is amazing when I think about where are now and I am deeply grateful to Derbyshire County Council who have made a swift and coordinated response to the damage caused by the flood.
I will write a newsletter over the next few weeks but I need to let you know a few things before then.
Thursday 12th December
School will be closed on this day as the Village Hall is used as a Polling Station.
This will be arranged for January when we are back in school with a further parents’ evening later in the year. However, if you have any questions about your child please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher.
Sadly we have had to take the difficult decision to postpone the Infant Nativity as we are unable to rehearse in the Village Hall while we are all based in there. It will go ahead in the new year and we will have a little blast of Christmas in February!
Again, please do not hesitate to speak to me if you have any questions.
Thank you all for your support over the past couple of weeks - it has meant such a lot to us all.
