On behalf of both the teaching staff and the Governing Body may I, first of all, take the opportunity of thanking you for your support throughout this extraordinary and unprecedented health crisis and for the encouragement and help you have provided for your children in enabling them to take part in the virtual teaching both schools have been able to provide. Caroline has been extremely impressed by how quickly your children have adapted to their virtual schooling. Whilst I am sure that they are missing their friends we can at least be reassured that the trajectory of their education has been interrupted as little as possible.
I would also like to inform you that, in view of the Covid-19 situation, Ofsted and Caroline have agreed that Caroline should remain with the Federation until 1st January 2021 to ensure continuity and stability of school. The Governing Body have confirmed that they would be delighted for Caroline to remain in post at Peak Tor until her secondment begins. I am sure that you will agree that it will be enormously helpful to have continuity of headship over the next 6 months or so to allow school routines to return, as far as possible, back to normal before the seconded Head takes over.
Interviews for and the selection of the seconded EHT will accordingly be postponed until the beginning of September. This delay will allow us to conduct these interviews and the selection process with the candidates in person as opposed to virtually. The Governing Body believe that this will allow us to make a fairer and more informed choice when the time comes.
